Gradually, this became an obsession and to cut a long story short, we bought some land and started our own orchard.

I have two Burbank Plum trees that have just gone into bloom. Both trees are about 10 years old. The problem is that sometimes the plums will have worms in them. So when should i start spraying the trees and what should i spray with. Thanks

    They should first be sprayed in the autumn-after the leaves have fallen, and you’ve raked up all the debris (because the moth larvae and insects overwinter then crawl back up into the tree in spring). This should be done when rain is not imminent. You should do it again in early spring and just before the tree buds out. I use copper and neem oil. Be sure to read the ingredients to make sure whatever you use is safe for fruit trees–stone fruit.
