apple trees
Welcome to Apple Trees, this site is fanatical about anything to do with apples and apple trees. Our fanaticism started when we planted our dwarf apple tree in our small back garden. Gradually, this became an obsession and to cut a long story short, we bought some land and started our own orchard.

To say our apple trees are our passion would be an understatement. We will be gradually adding lots of photos and apple trees articles, including growing apple tree guides, guide on dwarf apples trees, apple recipes, apple tree growing and much more!

You will be able to buy apple trees here also! Apple trees for sale around the UK will be listed, as will review guides and how to buy apple trees.

This is the recipe I’ve used for years and my Mum used before me.
APPLE CRUMBLE
3 Tablespoons coconut,
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoons Self Raising Flour
Pinch of Salt
Rub all together ’til crumbly and spoon this mixture onto stewed apples (or other stewed fruit) in a pie dish. Bake in a moderate oven for about 20 minutes.
Happy cooking!!

Use the old fasioned oatmeal, not the quick cooking as the old fashioned keeps whole together better.
    Apple Mixture:
10 cups apples, peeled and sliced
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    1 tablespoon lemon zest
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup golden raisins
    Topping Mixture:
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
    1 1/2 cups oats
    2 tablespoons lemon zest
    1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1 teaspoon ground cardamom
    Vegetable oil or cooking spray
Combine all of the ingredients for the apple mixture in a bowl.
In another bowl, cut the butter into the flour and stir in the remaining topping ingredients.
Spray the interior of a camp Dutch oven with cooking spray or wipe with vegetable oil. Spread the apple mixture in the bottom of the camp Dutch oven. Top with the topping mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F by placing 8 coals under the camp Dutch oven and 16 coals on top of the lid. Continue cooking until the apples are cooked and the topping is brown. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/…

don’t use oatmeal, it gets very hard once you bake it. I prefer using butter, sugar, cinnamon and flour as the crust.

Does anyone have history with this? I just read it is the hardest herb to grow. I got some free seeds so I am trying it but it hasn't germinated yet. MJ
