I am growing an apple tree in my yard. It’s about 5 feet tall now and it looks pretty healthy. Today I went to look at it though, and I noticed a bunch of black ants crawling up and down. There were a lot. What can I do to get rid of them?

I just realized that we ordered DWARF fruit trees (apple, peaches, plums) from an online garden supply. Will these trees have a long life and produce a lot of fruit? I dont want to invest time in fruit trees that are more ornamental.
