Also, when is the best time to start spraying and how often? I’ve had this apple tree for years that i never sprayed because i don’t like to use insecticides (never used it on my lawn either). But now i have grandkids and i want them to enjoy consummable apples from my backyard. Thanks!

I’ve looked at recipes for apple pies, tarts, pastries, crips etc and most do call for these green sourish apples. Is there a reason why? (i dont really fancy them so im wondering if i use a yellow golden apple will change the flavor much)
