I recently bought a home on 4 acres in southwest Michigan and I have a perfect spot for an orchard of fruit trees. I want a large variety of fruits. Here are my questions: What kinds of fruit trees should I plant? How far apart should I plant them? Thanks for the help!

Why the orange farmers will mist the fruit trees with water overnight in order to prevent damage to the tree and fruit during freesing temperatures. the water being spayed on the tree will freezes. how this work?
