I recently planted a “fruit salad” tree that has peaches, apricots, plums and “plumicot” varieties grafted onto one tree. Does anyone have any experience with this type of tree? If so, how has it worked out so far? Any advice on pruning them would be most helpful.

I have transplanted a patio peach tree from its container to my yard, and it is growing very well. It is beautiful all year long. Recently, however, green offshoots with green leaves have sprouted from the bottom of the trunk and are now as tall as the trunk itself. Are these something that I need to get rid of? Or will they become more flowering branches?

I work in the Agricultural field and a farmer noticed a pear tree blooming the other day. He took a picture and brought it in our office, sure enough it has fruit and blooms on one tree. What could have caused this phenomenon?

Looks kind of like a kumquat, but skin is smooth (not like that of an orange), and the “pit” or “seed” almost takes up the entire inside, very little flesh for eating and the seed’s skin is smooth, brown, shiny…kind of like what a buckeye looks like. I have been told it is type of Japanese plum, but from my research, it’s too small. Pictures of cross cuts of a kumquat also doesn’t fit. Anyone in florida with this type of tree….if you know what it is, please help.
Persimmons also do not fit this description, as persimmons are too large, the fruit I’m asking about is an early season fruit, and ripens in mid to late march, is about 1″ to 1 1/2″ in length, oval, orange in color, grows in clusters. I have tried looking in books and online, but to no avail.

I planted 2 two-year old plum trees about 5 years ago that have never blossomed. Can anyone give me any ideas?

There is an old plum tree near by that still bears fruit so pollination shouldn’t be the problem. There are lots of leaves and the tree looks healthy.
