apple trees
Welcome to Apple Trees, this site is fanatical about anything to do with apples and apple trees. Our fanaticism started when we planted our dwarf apple tree in our small back garden. Gradually, this became an obsession and to cut a long story short, we bought some land and started our own orchard.

To say our apple trees are our passion would be an understatement. We will be gradually adding lots of photos and apple trees articles, including growing apple tree guides, guide on dwarf apples trees, apple recipes, apple tree growing and much more!

You will be able to buy apple trees here also! Apple trees for sale around the UK will be listed, as will review guides and how to buy apple trees.

It would start to grow in a couple of weeks but would take about 7 years to maturity. The tree will not be true to type as apple trees are hybrids, and the tree from your seed will depend on the source of the pollination. It is not worth the time and effort to see the mature tree but it is fun just to grow on for a few months.

I planted a baby apple tree 7 years ago. At the time, it was about 4ft tall. It has just now reached the 8-9ft mark and hasn’t started producing yet. My guess for your apple seeds would be 15-20yrs.

Apple trees are fairly cheep about a 25$for 4-5 feet tall you will need to different trees to produce apples. Make sure they are compatible. Check with your local nursery.
No you can’t grow a tree from a seed.
    Good Luck

7-10 years to produce fruit. It could be longer if the tree is not “happy” in it’s spot.
Growing an apple tree from a seed, though, will NOT get you the same kind of apple as the apple you got the seed from – but a hybrid between the kind of apple it was, and the variety of apple tree that pollinated it. It’s a crapshoot. And MOST of the hybrids will not be as tasty as the “mother” apple.
They are almost always good for cider, though. And besides, it’s fun to grow your own fruit tree from a seed.

the seeds from apples you buy in store may not be plantable. i would suggest you buy a seedling. also, some trees have to have 2 trees to produce fruit. check with the nursery. check with your local nursery for the best variety to grow in your region.

From seed to fruiting size, about 6-10 years. But grown from seed, the fruit tends to be less tasty, or inedible.

Does anyone have history with this? I just read it is the hardest herb to grow. I got some free seeds so I am trying it but it hasn't germinated yet. MJ
