apple trees
Welcome to Apple Trees, this site is fanatical about anything to do with apples and apple trees. Our fanaticism started when we planted our dwarf apple tree in our small back garden. Gradually, this became an obsession and to cut a long story short, we bought some land and started our own orchard.

To say our apple trees are our passion would be an understatement. We will be gradually adding lots of photos and apple trees articles, including growing apple tree guides, guide on dwarf apples trees, apple recipes, apple tree growing and much more!

You will be able to buy apple trees here also! Apple trees for sale around the UK will be listed, as will review guides and how to buy apple trees.

It can’t be an authentic Dutch Apple Pie if you’re using applesauce.

Had it in Foods 2 yesterday. Very convincing, and tasty.
Omit anything to do with apples completely ;)
    Ingredients:
    -pastry dough for a 2-crust, 9-inch pie
-36 Ritz crackers, or other buttery snack crackers, coarsely crumbled (about 1 3/4 cup)
    -1 3/4 cup water
    -2 cups sugar
    -2 teaspoons cream of tartar
    -2 tablespoons lemon juice
    -zest of one lemon
    -2 tablespoons margarine or butter
    -1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Need: a rolling pin, a 9-inch pie tin, an oven
    1. Roll out half the pastry and line a 9-inch pie tin. Put the cracker crumbs in the prepared crust and set it aside.
    2. Heat the water, sugar, and cream of tartar to a boil over high heat. Simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the mixture from the heat and add the lemon juice and zest. Let cool.
    3. Pour the cooled syrup over the cracker crumbs. Dot it with margarine or butter. Roll out the remaining pastry dough, arrange it over the pie as a lattice, or as one piece with slits to allow steam to escape.
4.Bake at 425° F for 30 to 35 minutes or until crust is crisp and golden. Cool.

    Applesauce Pie
    Ingredients
    9-inch unbaked pie shell
    3 eggs
    5 tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 cups unsweetened applesauce
    1 tbsp. butter, softened
    Instructions
Place your pie shell in a 9-inch pie pan.. Rub the crust with the
softened butter and place in the refrigerator until the filling is
    ready.
Combine the sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon and the eggs. Beat until smooth.
Fold the applesauce and vanilla into the egg mixture and stir until
    well blended.
Remove your pie shell from the refrigerator and pour in the filling.
Sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon and place the pie in a preheated 450 degrees F oven for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees F and bake for another 30 minutes or until the center is set.
    *Notes*
This pie would also be delicious using a Graham Cracker crust. Hold a
little of the crust ingredients aside to sprinkle on the top before
    baking.

Does anyone have history with this? I just read it is the hardest herb to grow. I got some free seeds so I am trying it but it hasn't germinated yet. MJ
