Welcome to Apple Trees, this site is fanatical about anything to do with apples and apple trees. Our fanaticism started when we planted our dwarf apple tree in our small back garden. Gradually, this became an obsession and to cut a long story short, we bought some land and started our own orchard.

To say our apple trees are our passion would be an understatement. We will be gradually adding lots of photos and apple trees articles, including growing apple tree guides, guide on dwarf apples trees, apple recipes, apple tree growing and much more!

   Apple Upside Down Cake:
   INGREDIENTS:
   * 1/2 cup butter
   * 1 cup light brown sugar
   * 2 tablespoons evaporated milk or cream
   * 2 cups sliced apples
   * 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
   * 2 teaspoons baking powder
   * 1 teaspoon cinnamon
   * 1/2 teaspoon salt
   * 1/4 cup shortening
   * 3/4 cup sugar
   * 1 egg
   * 1/2 cup milk
   * 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
   PREPARATION:
   Mix together 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons evaporated milk or cream; spread in bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan. Arrange sliced apples on the brown sugar mixture. Sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Cream shortening with sugar; beat in egg the add sifted ingredients alternately with 1/2 cup milk and the vanilla extract.
   Pour batter over apples. Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes, until cake is done.

   Apple Cake Recipe
   INGREDIENTS:
   * 2 cups sugar
   * 1 1/2 cups corn oil
   * 3 eggs
   * 2 tsp. vanilla
   * 3 cups unsifted flour
   * 1 tsp. baking soda
   * 1 tsp. salt
   * 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
   * 2 tsp. cinnamon
   * 5 cups diced peeled apples
   * 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
   * icing – see directions
   PREPARATION:
   Cream together sugar and corn oil. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then beat in vanilla. set aside.
   Sift together flour, soda, salt, cloves, and cinnamon. Stir apples and walnuts to sifted dry ingredients.
   Add all dry ingredients to creamed mixture. It will be difficult to stir and the end result will be a stiff dough. Bake in greased and floured 9×13x2 baking pan at 325° for 55-60 minutes. Mix 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar with about 1/4 cup milk. Add more to make icing consistency to “drizzle.” Spread over “still very warm” cake. It is so delicious…wonderful for after dinner or as a morning cake with coffee.

   Paula Deen’s Spicy Cinnamon Cake
   1¼ hours 7 min prep
   Change to: servings US Metric
   1 (18 ounce) package spice cake mix
   1 (3 1/2 ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix
   1 cup sour cream
   4 eggs, beaten
   1/2 cup corn oil
   5 tablespoons sugar
   2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
   1/2 cup chopped pecans
   Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 10-inch tube pan.
   Combine cake mix, instant pudding, sour cream, eggs, and corn oil and beat together well.
   In a separate bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and pecans.
   Pour half of batter into prepared pan and sprinkle with sugar mixture, reserving a little to sprinkle on top.
   Pour the rest of batter into pan and sprinkle with the rest of sugar mixture.
   Bake 1 hour. Let cool and remove from pan
