Welcome to Apple Trees, this site is fanatical about anything to do with apples and apple trees. Our fanaticism started when we planted our dwarf apple tree in our small back garden. Gradually, this became an obsession and to cut a long story short, we bought some land and started our own orchard.

   6 apples – peeled, cored and chopped
   1/2 to 3/4 cup water to keep apples from scorching
   1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
   1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
   1/2 cup white sugar ,more or less
   DIRECTIONS
   In a 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, combine apples, water, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in sugar a little at a time depending on the sweetness of your apples, and simmer 5 to 10 more minutes.
   mash with potato masher for chunkier or use hand blender for smoother texture or allow to cool some and put in food processor or blender..enjoy…

   I work in a grade one class and after our trip to the apple farm we made applesauce in the crock pot (slow cooker). All you have to do is peel, core and chop the apples and put them in the crock pot on high until it is the texture you like. No water required. We used a masher once and a while to help it get smooth and searved with a little brown sugar sprinkled on top. I made it at home later and added some raisins it was fantastic!!!! The raisins plumped up and were so juicy.

   I use enough water to cover the apples bring to a boil then turn heat down to a low simmer and let it cook until the water is absorbed to texture you like.

   peel them core and seed them, and put in microwavable dish with couple tablespoons water. microwave till apples are soft, and then pour through a sieve. sometimes i just mash mine! add cinnamon and sugar if desired. and enjoy.

   Peel, cut, and boil up your apples. Either mash them with a potato masher or whiz them up in a blender. Depending on the type and ripeness of the apple, you may not end up needing any water at all. Then add a little cinammon and some sugar (if it needs any).

    Apple Sauce
    Yield: 1 quart
    3 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
    3 Fuji apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
    1 cup unfiltered apple juice
    2 tablespoons cognac or brandy
    2 tablespoons butter
    3 tablespoons honey
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    In a sealable microwave-safe container, combine apples with all other ingredients. Close lid, leaving one corner of lid open to allow steam to escape. Microwave on high for 10 minutes.
    Using a hand blender or potato masher, blend to desired consistency. Serve hot immediately or chill for later use.

    Apple sauce is relatively easy, and you don’t have to follow any specific recipe. I make mine chunky, six apples is probably a perfect amount. I just peel and chop the apples and put them in a pan. just cover the bottom of the pan with a little bit of water so the apples don’t burn at first. once the apples get cooking they will release more water/juice… if it seems like it needs more add it a little bit at a time, but you don’t want it too get to thin.
    Now add some of your favorite apple pie type spices. Cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg. Whatever you like. I like to put some vanilla in and while it’s not necessary to sweeten I usually like to put a bit of maple syrup in, too. mmmm..
    cook until the apples are soft. at least half an hour. longer if you like it softer. Use a masher if you want it smoother or leave the apple pieces in.
    Yummy served warm when you first make it, and any leftovers…
    still yummy chilled.
