Can anyone tell me about the peanut butter fruit (bunchosia argentea), and the tree that it grows on? I read that it is native to Venezuela and Colombia, however i cant find any information telling me if it grows in places where it might get cold, if it grows in mountains or where?
The reason all that matters is because i live in Tennessee where being warm year round is not going to happen. Any botanists know?
Before answering, know that there is a HUGE difference between Bunchosia argentea and Arachis hypogaea. So no more stupid answers.

I also live in TN! I found this site that probably answers your question: http://www. tradewindsfruit. com/peanut_butter_fruit. htm
It looks like the tree can only survive in a tropical climate and can’t survive a freeze.
However, I did find this link to a company that says their trees can stand up to frost. http://www. daleysfruit. com. au/newsletter/february2002. htm
APPLE TREESWho knows if their claim is accurate.
