Gradually, this became an obsession and to cut a long story short, we bought some land and started our own orchard.

Hello.

I am planning on planting an apple tree in my backyard but I have a few questions about it before I do.

1.Will it hurt my roses if I plant it in the middle of my yard?(approx. 3 feet away)
2.What will help with apples falling on the ground? How do I dispose of them?
3.Will the seed be fine in a cup of water until I can get a pot for it or plant it in my yard?
4.When pruning it, how much should I prune it usually? Does it depend?
5.How tall do apple trees usually get?

The seed only has the root growing from it and right now I have it in a cup of water. Will it do ok in the cup until I can get it in a pot or in the ground? I am a first timer when it comes to growing trees… Just trying to cover the basics.
