apple trees
Welcome to Apple Trees, this site is fanatical about anything to do with apples and apple trees. Our fanaticism started when we planted our dwarf apple tree in our small back garden. Gradually, this became an obsession and to cut a long story short, we bought some land and started our own orchard.

To say our apple trees are our passion would be an understatement. We will be gradually adding lots of photos and apple trees articles, including growing apple tree guides, guide on dwarf apples trees, apple recipes, apple tree growing and much more!

You will be able to buy apple trees here also! Apple trees for sale around the UK will be listed, as will review guides and how to buy apple trees.

I went to a tent revival and a lady there made chewy red candy apples and they left me wanting more ever since HELP!lol!! I dont want the hard ones but chewy. Thanks.

    Candy Apples on a Stick
This old-time Halloween candy recipe for candy apples will bring back memories. Our neighbor Mr. Watkins always made taffy apples on Halloween, and I can remember looking forward to them all year.
Two cups granulated sugar, one-half cup light corn syrup, one-quarter cup water, red coloring, one-half teaspoon cinnamon flavoring, twelve red apples, twelve wooden skewers.
Cook the granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water in a small saucepan, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Continue cooking without stirring until the syrup is brittle when tested in cold water. During the cooking, any sugar crystals thrown on the sides of the pan should be carefully washed down with a wet cloth. Remove the syrup from the heat and set at once over hot water. Add coloring and flavoring and mix well.
Insert the skewers in the blossom end of the apples. Hold each apple by the skewer and plunge into the hot syrup. Draw it out quickly and twirl it until the syrup is spread smoothly over the apple. Place with the skewer end down in a cake rack, which has been placed over a large bowl, so that the apple does not touch anything while hardening. These apples should be made the day they are to be used.

Does anyone have history with this? I just read it is the hardest herb to grow. I got some free seeds so I am trying it but it hasn't germinated yet. MJ
